| January News Update
Yes… I am launching an album of NEW songs on The Big Bush Brekky at Wests Diggers on AUSTRALIA DAY .
Galah Occasion is my first album of new musical material since 2004 and …. And ….GUESS WHAT ??? I am the Northern Daily Leader FACE OF THE FESTIVAL for 2012!
The Big Bush Brekky Variety Show has become one of Tamworth’s best-loved regular events and I feel rejuvenated.
We have a new bunch of songs and new suits, too! The show is more fun than ever with surprise guests and regulars like Darren Carr & Rustling Russell on piano and new host - the amazing fourteen year old singer Katelyn O’Donoghue. Hope to see you in Tamworth!
Songs on the new album include observations of Aussie life like... Colonoscopy, El Dubbo and Losin’ It, a song about memory and domestic blindness. Auntie Dorrie’s Garage Sale tells of a garage sale that becomes permanent. The title track takes a satirical look at the modern obsession with fame and celebrity.
There are also bush ballads like Joy McKean’s Casey’s Luck ,and some stirring Aussie originals - The Banjo and The Breaker and Henry Lawson, and a patriotic tribute simply titled … Australia.
I teamed up with Wayne Horsburgh for Home Among the Gumtrees meets Don’t Fence Me In, and Melanie Dyer joins me to sing the tongue-in-cheek duet We Don’t see Eye To Eye.
Galah Occasion is now available via Jim's order page.
See you in Tamworth!
Cheers
Jim
