PORT FAIRY

It was great to catch up with so many of you in Port Fairy ....what a GREAT festival it is .The Pat Glover Storytelling award was won by Julie Perrin .... The judges this year were Noel Stallard, 3 time winner Jackie Kerin and Dave Stewart who, along with wife Rosemary, has been stage managing at that venue for as long as I can remember! Pat's daughter Margaret was there to present the trophy and I hosted the event. It's sad to think that Pat has been gone now for over 5 years... but his memory and spirit sure live on in the Pat Glover Award!

It was great to catch up with old friends Dennis O'Keefe and also Stephen Whiteside, who works hard promoting the memory of C J Dennis and helping to organise the Toolangi Festival in his honour.


OPOTIKI NZ
I had a fantastic trip to OPOTIKI in NZ. I can't thank Mike Butterworth and his committee enough for their wonderful hospitality and the concerts were great fun with packed houses and a wonderful audience every time!

The band were a great bunch of guys to work with and piano player  and  'token Pakeha' John Houghton did a great job with charts and was a source of knowledge about that part on NZ.

I also have to thank Allen Robb for showing me around and taking me to places my little hire car would not have managed!

Back home I caught up with an old friend ex-Delltone Wayne Cornell, and I am off to do a run of shows with Wayne's great variety show BACK TO THE TIVOLI in April :
