This is a unique anthology of fiction, verse and real-life stories from the Gallipoli campaign which captures the poignancy of the Gallipoli experience, along with the inevitable resulting dry Aussie humour and emotional responses of both the participants and those at home. The collection includes stories of enlistment and mateship, the evacuation and homecoming and the impact of the conflict on those waiting at home, as well as the reactions of fiction writers, poets, soldiers and journalists. There are stories from respected authors, along with first hand experiences of the Anzacs who fought in the trenches. Many of these stories and poems have never been published before and some have been out of print since the 1920s.
